Again another year is drawing to a close and the preparations for 2009 are already in full swing.
I believe we can look back on a successful anniversary year, with the Swisss National Show as a highlight. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our helpers, especially the Schützengesellschaft Unterengstringen for their tireless service. I would also like to thank the author of the well written article in Tierwelt, which showed the Swiss Budgerigar Society in a very advantageous light.

The Swiss BS show 2009 will be held in Hasle in the vicinity of Lucerne. A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit the village and look at the venue. Again we are lucky that the birds can be shown in a separate room from the restaurant. As usual a local association will provide food and drinks and is already deep into planning.

A very bad feeling left the robbery of budgerigars at Daniel Lütolf’s. It is inexplicable why something like this can even happen. I hope for all of us that this incident is solved as quickly as possible and we can focus on our hobby again.

I would like to thank everyone for their continued support, especially all the helping hands that made it possible to carry our events through. I wish you a lot of success in the current and coming breeding seasons and am convinced that also in 2009 all of us will achieve quality birds across all breeding classes.
